Laughter and the Brain

The role of laughter in the brain is not fully understood, but there is much research in this area.
1. The left side of the cortex figured out the words and structures of the material.
2. The frontal lobe, which is also involved in social and emotional responses goes into action.
3. The right side of the cortex carries out intellectual analysis that's required to understand the joke.
4. Brainwave activity spreads to the sensory processing areas of the occipital lobe.
5. Stimulation of the motor sections bring out the physical response which is laughter.
